Hello girls!!
Now I want to share something about skills. I did an interview with Mary in
which she says the skill she finds the hardest to be developed is Reading
comprehension, because it requires being very critical thinking. I consider
that the problem is that we do not have a good habit in this skill and this
limitation also happens with many students in any level of education.
I agree when
she says that something that can help her in order to improve this problem
could be the practices, reading very often, looking for topics she considers
are very interesting and applying the different techniques, for instance,
skimming, and scanning.
I consider it
is really important to improve every skill, especially in the one that we have
problems with!!
I agree with Mary, you can improve the skill by practicing it as much as you can for you to get new vocab. I think that one of the most difficult things in reading comprehension is to find many unknown words, because we waste time looking for them in a dictionary and at the end we get borec and frustrated,so we do not understand the main idea. Reading is amazing and you can learn and have fun if you do it with interest and desire of being better.

ResponderEliminarOne strategy that can help students to read more quickly and effectively is by guessing the context.For example,we can use our prior knowledge of the subject and the ideas in the text as clues to the meanings of unknown words, instead of stopping to look them up. It helped me a lot when I was studying literature.
